Toronto Workers Club named 2025 Premier Sponsor

Thursday 27 March 2025: Toronto Workers Club has announced a $30,000 investment in the Macquarie Junior Scorpions Rugby League Football Club as the premier sponsor for 2025.

The sponsorship will support more than 330 players from under six to under 17s, and help the thriving Club continue to grow its cultural and social connections with the community, while also promoting physical health, education, and overall social and emotional wellbeing.  

Ben Launt, CEO of Toronto Workers Club, said that the Club is excited to support the next generation of rugby league players to get involved in the sport.

“Rugby league is a huge part of our community in Toronto and Lake Macquarie, and we’re passionate supporters of the Scorps! We’re pleased to be able to support the junior club to help it drive growth of the organisation and the well-being of players.”

Mitchell Van Huisstede, Macquarie Scorps Club President, said both the Scorps Juniors and Toronto Workers Club are integral parts of the local community.

“It’s great for us to come together to foster a positive environment that supports the growth and development of our junior players. Toronto Workers Club’s support helps us provide the opportunity for any young person, regardless of culture, gender or ability, to learn, play and love the game of Rugby League."

The 2025 sponsorship will support the Club to:

• Keep registration fees affordable for local families

• Provide training for coaches and players

• Upgrade lighting to Keith Barry Oval and install field drainage

• Replace equipment and training packs • Replacement gym equipment in the Club, and

• Provide uniforms and training gear.

The season will kick off on Saturday 5th April 2025. We look forward to seeing you at the games.
